Michael Lewellen

Head of Solutions Architecture at OpenZeppelin

Michael Lewellen has been working in the technology industry since 2012. Michael began their career as a Principal Consultant for Cryptocurrency Consulting, then moved on to become a Technology Partner for Tarski Technologies in 2018. In the same year, they became the CTO & Software Architect for Olypsis and a Blockchain Developer for Thomson Reuters. In 2019, they were the Lead Software Architect for Toyota North America and a Blockchain Architect & Technical Lead for Verizon. In 2020, they became the Secretary/Board Director for the Texas Blockchain Council and a Guest Lecturer at The University of Texas at Dallas, teaching an accredited course on blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. Most recently, in 2021, they became the Head of Solutions Architecture, Protocol Security Advisor, and Security Project Manager for OpenZeppelin.

Michael Lewellen holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Dallas. Michael has obtained numerous certifications, including Substrate Blockchain Developer from INDUSTRY CONNECT in February 2021, Blockchain in Production and Supply Chain Management from B9lab in August 2019, Corda Certified Developer from R3 in August 2019, Certified Quorum Specialist from B9lab in December 2018, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in September 2020, and Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) from Scrum Alliance in January 2019.
