Davin Strain has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Davin began their career as a Summer Vacationer at Pitcher Partners in 2008, where they worked in the Audit department. In 2009, they had another Summer Vacation role at Deloitte Australia, this time in the Forensic division.
Following their graduation, Davin joined Deloitte Australia in 2010 as a Forensic Analyst. Davin performed various duties related to financial crime investigations, expert witness dispute resolution services, and AML/CTF consulting.
In 2011, Davin transitioned to Village Roadshow Entertainment Group, taking on the role of Business Analyst. Davin eventually became a Senior Business Analyst in 2014, reporting to the Head of FP&A. Davin'sresponsibilities in this position included financial modeling, bank reporting, budgeting, board reporting, and mentoring two business analysts.
In 2017, Davin continued their career at Village Roadshow, assuming the role of Senior Finance Analyst. Davin provided financial analysis and support, particularly in relation to television and theatrical sales as well as television productions. Davin was later promoted to Finance Business Partner - Television and Theatrical Sales & Television Productions, where they partnered with various business channels, handled budgeting, actual results analysis, scenario/deal modeling, title acquisition modeling, and adhoc strategic analysis.
Most recently, Davin joined Opia in 2022 as the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager. The following year, they were promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer.
Davin Strain's education history began in 2001 at Haileybury, where they pursued their VCE degree. Davin studied subjects such as English, Maths Methods, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, and Drama until their graduation in 2006. Following their secondary education, from 2007 to 2009, Davin attended the University of Melbourne, earning a BCom degree. During this time, their studies focused on Accounting, Finance, Fraud, and Forensics. Davin then pursued further education at Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand from 2010 to 2012, obtaining a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting in the field of Accounting.
