Cornelius Chirairo has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Cornelius began their career as a Human Resources Officer for TA Electric, a subsidiary of TA Holdings, before being promoted to Human Resources Manager. Cornelius then joined Aroma Bakeries as Divisional HR & Training Manager, where they guided the implementation of HR strategies and policies.

After that, Cornelius founded HROD Africa, a strategy consulting firm, where they provided support to governments, businesses, and not-for-profits in Southern Africa. Cornelius then moved on to the National Employment Council for the Motor Industry of Zimbabwe, where they served as Chief Executive Officer, overseeing collective bargaining processes and managing the Motor Industry Pension Fund's investment portfolio.

Cornelius's experience in the international development sector includes roles at World Vision International and World Vision Australia. At World Vision International, they served as the Regional Strategy & Project Management Lead, overseeing strategy implementation across multiple Southern African countries. In 1992, Chirairo attended the Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe, where they earned a Diploma in Personnel Management. Cornelius'scoursework covered various topics such as Personnel Management, Management of Training, Recruitment Selection, and Safety, Health, and Welfare.
