Director, Community Engagement at Opportunity Village

Heather Davis, M.Ed, CVA, CPLC, has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Heather currently holds the position of Director of Community Engagement at Opportunity Village since July 2021. Before that, they worked as a Manager of Community Engagement at the same organization from March 2019 to July 2021.

Prior to joining Opportunity Village, Heather worked at Special Olympics Illinois. Heather served as the Region H Assistant Director from January 2018 to March 2019 and as an Area Director from July 2014 to January 2018. In their role as an Area Director, Heather was responsible for various accomplishments, including creating area growth by recruiting new agencies and increasing athlete totals and participation. Heather also developed a successful fundraiser called "Row Raiser," which saw significant revenue and participation growth over the years.

Before their time at Special Olympics Illinois, Heather worked as a Health Educator at HMR Weight Management Services from 2010 to 2014.

Their earlier work experience includes various roles at Quincy University, where they held positions such as Dean of Students and Director of Campus Housing from January 1998 to May 2009, Director of Residence Life from 2003 to 2005, and Area Coordinator/Director of Alcohol & Drug Education from 2000 to 2003. During their time at Quincy University, Heather was involved in campus judicial processes, disciplinary hearings, conduct cases, interventions, conflict resolution, and alcohol and drug education.

Heather Davis has a strong background in community engagement, program management, leadership, and educational administration.

Heather Davis, M.Ed, CVA, CPLC has a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Education from Quincy University. Heather also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in BS from the same institution. In addition, Heather has obtained certifications in Volunteer Administration (CVA) from the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration in April 2021 and a Certified Professional Coach (CPLC) from PCCI, ICF International Coaching Federation.
