Jevon Turner

Jevon Turner has extensive experience in risk management, compliance, and business resilience. Jevon currently serves as the Head of International Business Risk and Compliance at Opteon since August 2020. In this role, they lead the company-wide approach to risk management and compliance.

Prior to joining Opteon, Jevon was the National Manager of Risk & Compliance at Herron Todd White for over 13 years, from October 2007 to July 2020. During their tenure, they built a culture of risk awareness and appetite in a franchise environment and introduced an Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Control Framework.

Jevon also has experience as the Course Director for Risk & Compliance at the Governance Institute of Australia from March 2018 to June 2019, and as a Non-Executive Director at Jack's Butterflies Ltd from November 2017 to September 2018. At Jack's Butterflies, a registered charity fund, they worked with families with children diagnosed with life-limiting rare diseases.

Jevon served as a Non-Executive Director at Earthtrade from May 2016 to September 2018. Earthtrade is the leading environmental offsets solutions specialist in Australia. Jevon also held the role of Company Secretary at Earthtrade from August 2011 to May 2016.

Before that, they worked at the Governance Institute of Australia as the Course Director for Advanced Risk Management from June 2015 to November 2015. Jevon was also a Lecturer in Risk Management at Queensland University of Technology from March 2007 to November 2011.

Earlier in their career, Jevon worked at Golden Circle, where they held positions as Risk Manager from January 2005 to September 2007 and Safety Manager from September 1999 to January 2005. Jevon implemented successful safety leadership programs and achieved top performance in safety within the Australian food industry.

Jevon began their career at Amcor as a Safety & Training Assistant from February 1997 to September 1999, where they oversaw various safety management projects.

Jevon Turner has a diverse education history that includes several degrees and certificates. In 1998, they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Health and Safety from QUT (Queensland University of Technology). In 2004, they went on to earn a Master of Business Administration (Executive) from The University of Queensland. In 2006, Jevon completed a Graduate Certificate in Risk Management from QUT. In 2011, they obtained a Certificate in Governance Practice from Chartered Secretaries Australia. Finally, in 2012, Jevon became a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
