Lead Manufacturing And Tooling Engineer Retired AS OF MAY 1, 2023 at Optimal Design

Thomas Oshgan has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Thomas began their career as an Engineering Manager at Chicago White Metal Casting Inc. in 1984. Thomas then worked as a Project Engineer at Permonite Plastics from 1987 to 1989. Thomas joined ITW in 1989, initially with ITW Automotive before the company was purchased by Eaton Automotive. At Eaton Corporation, they served as a Lead Engineer, leading a multi-disciplinary team in designing and manufacturing automotive specialty switches and components. In 1995, they joined Mayfair Molded Products, Corp. as an Engineering Manager, overseeing all engineering functions for thermoplastic and thermoset injection and insert molding operations. From 1999 to 2004, they worked at Fabrik Molded Plastics as a Project Engineer, managing various engineering functions associated with thermoplastic injection molding. Following that, they joined Chemtech Plastics Inc. in 2004 as a Senior Project Engineer, specializing in injection and insert molding for the automotive industry. In 2010, they joined Chicago White Metal Casting Inc. again, this time as a Senior Staff Engineer, working on developing an internal APQP system and providing design consultation to customers. Thomas then moved to IMI Cornelius in 2011 as a Senior Project Engineer, where they took control of a strategic Automated Smoothie Program for McDonald's that was to be implemented in European and Asian stores. Finally, they retired as a Lead Manufacturing and Tooling Engineer at Optimal Design in May 2023, where they worked on product design for injection molding, die casting, and manufacturing.

Thomas Oshgan obtained an AAS-Mechanical Engineering Technology degree in Mechanical Technology / Electrical Engineering from Harper, where they were enrolled from 1973 to 1977.
