Ari Niemi has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles.
In 2001, they began their career at Nokia as a Manufacturing Test Engineer, where they were responsible for the end-to-end mobile phone manufacturing test process. Ari led a team, developed test hardware and software, and ensured the quality of the final product.
From 2009 to 2011, Ari worked as a Mechanical Variant Engineer at Nokia, creating design and technical graphics for customer-specific mechanical parts. Ari collaborated closely with suppliers and maintained product structures and change management.
In 2011, Ari transitioned to the role of Specialist, Design for Final Assembly at Nokia. Ari had overall accountability for developing lean assembly processes for mobile phones. Ari focused on implementing critical details into the product design to facilitate smooth and high-quality manufacturing ramp-up. Their responsibilities included assembly simulation, driving design improvements, implementing preventative and corrective actions, and providing onsite training to global factories.
From 2014 to 2016, Ari worked at Microsoft as a Specialist, Design for Final Assembly, performing similar responsibilities as at Nokia. Ari also contributed to risk management, tolerance analysis, and the development of new production technologies.
In 2017, Ari joined Etteplan as a Technical Documentation Specialist before moving to AGCO Power Oy as a Production Development Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for developing lean production processes for diesel engines, particularly in the final assembly and painting processes. Ari also led an investment project for a new Paint Shop.
Most recently, Ari joined OptoFidelity in 2021 as a Project Manager. Ari leads the delivery of test automation products, managing a project development team with expertise in software, mechanics, optics, and electronics design. The test solutions they oversee involve robots, high-level measurement technologies, machine vision, and imaging.
Ari Niemi completed their Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from SeAMK - Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences between 1997 and 2001. Ari later pursued a Master's degree in Automation Engineering at Tampere University of Applied Sciences from 2017 to 2018. Additionally, Ari obtained certifications in PRINCE2 Foundation from APMG International in October 2016 and Design for Six Sigma Greenbelt from Nokia in October 2014.
