Xavi Palou

Xavi Palou is an experienced professional in the field of photonics, currently serving as Project Manager and previously holding positions as Senior Product Development Engineer and Development Engineer at Optotune since November 2018. Xavi's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Photonics from ETH Zurich, complemented by a Master's Degree in Photonics and degrees in Telecommunications Engineering and Mathematics from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Prior to Optotune, Xavi conducted research as a Ph.D. student at ETH Zurich's Photonics Laboratory and completed a Master Thesis at ICFO, focusing on nanofabrication of mechanical resonators. Additional experience includes a research assistant role at Bell Laboratories, an internship at Deloitte, and media relations management at Unió Esports Base Vilanova i la Geltrú, along with a summer research assistant position for the OBSEA project at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
