Wei Huang

VP System Architecture at Optym

Wei Huang has a strong background in research and teaching, starting with their work as a Research and Teaching Assistant at Tsinghua University from 1997 to 2000. Following this, they worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Florida from 2000 to 2004, where they focused on modeling and analyzing large-scale supply chain optimization problems. They also designed efficient algorithms and implemented them using C++/CPLEX. Since 2004, Wei Huang has been with Optym, where they have held the role of VP, System Architecture. In this role, they served as a Project Manager and architect for various projects such as SkyMAX for Southwest Airlines and the AGV Simulation System for Walmart. They were also the lead developer and architect for TrainMAX and a railroad blocking optimizer.

Wei Huang obtained a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida, graduating in 2004. Prior to that, from 1992 to 2000, they pursued a Master of Engineering in Automation, Control System & Engineering at Tsinghua University. Completing their undergraduate studies at the same institution, Wei Huang earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Process Automation, which took place between 1992 and 1997.
