Tom Tourwé

Tom Tourwé has over 20 years of work experience in the field of technology and research. Tom is currently the Head of AI at Oqton, Inc since September 2021. Before joining Oqton, they worked at Sirris as the Technical Lead Data Innovation for 14 years, starting in June 2007 and ending in September 2021. At Sirris, Tom initiated and managed research projects on intelligent data processing, with a focus on predictive analytics and wearable intelligence. Prior to Sirris, they worked as an Assistant Professor at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven from September 2006 to June 2007, where they conducted research on applying model-driven engineering technology in complex industrial software systems. Tom also worked as a Postdoctoral researcher at CWI from 2004 to August 2006, collaborating with ASML on aspect-oriented technology in large-scale software systems. Tom'sresponsibilities included designing and implementing advanced code analysis algorithms, supporting the migration of ASML software. Tom began their research career as a PhD & Postdoc Researcher at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where they focused on aspect-oriented technology and developing technology for extracting and analyzing aspects from source code. Tom Tourwé received a doctoral grant from the Institute for the Promotion of Innovation by Science and Technology in Flanders (IWT) during their time at Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

Tom Tourwé completed their education in Computer Science at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Tom earned their Master of Science (MSc) degree from the institution between 1993 and 1997. Following this, they pursued further studies and obtained a PhD degree in Computer Science from the same university between 1997 and 2002.
