Instructional Designer II at Orbis Education

Matt Crosslin has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Matt currently holds the position of Instructional Designer II at Orbis Education since July 2020. Prior to this, Matt worked as a Part-Time Faculty at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley starting from January 2019.

Matt's longest tenure was at the University of Texas at Arlington, where they held multiple roles. From August 2014 to June 2020, they worked as a Learning Innovation Researcher, and from November 2005 to August 2014, they served as an Instructional Designer.

In addition, Matt worked as an Instructional Technologist at iDesign from March 2015 to November 2017. Matt also served as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Texas at Brownsville from August 2009 to August 2015.

Matt began their career as a Curriculum Writer at Health Edco Curriculum from January 2004 to October 2005. Matt then worked as an Associate Director of Education at Sylvan Learning Center from October 2002 to December 2003. Before that, Matt started their professional journey as an 8th Grade Science Teacher at LaVega ISD from August 2000 to May 2002.

Matt Crosslin earned their Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.Ed.) degree in Science and Art Education from Baylor University from 1994 to 1997. Matt then pursued a Master of Education (M. Ed.) degree in Educational Technology from the University of Texas at Brownsville, completing it from 2003 to 2005. Later on, they attended the University of North Texas, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Learning Technologies from 2012 to 2016.

Additionally, they acquired several certifications from edX in 2018, including "GAME104x: Video Game Design: Teamwork & Collaboration," "PH125.3x: Data Science: Probability," "GAME103x: Video Game Asset Creation and Process," "PH125.2x: Data Science: Visualization," "GAME102x: Video Game Design and Balance," "GAME101x: Video Game Design History," and "PH125.1x: Data Science: R Basics."
