Andrew Janecek-Oiler has a diverse work experience in the aerospace and automotive industries. Andrew started their career as an Automotive Technician at Hi-Tech Automotive, where they gained experience in automotive diagnostics and repairs. In 2014, they founded and served as the President and Safety Officer of Wyoming Motorsports, a Formula Hybrid team at the University of Wyoming. Under their leadership, the team achieved significant success in competitions.
In 2017 and 2018, Andrew had internships at NASA, where they worked in the Welding Division and as a Propulsion Academy Research Associate, respectively. These experiences allowed him to gain expertise in welding and propulsion research.
In 2019, Andrew interned at Blue Origin in the BE-3U Turbomachinery group, where they assisted in commissioning test operations and analyzed test data. Andrew also worked as a Combustion Research Assistant at the University of Wyoming during this time.
From 2020 to 2021, Andrew worked as an Aerospace Engineer at Answer Engineering Inc. Their role involved various responsibilities, such as engineering drawing flight release, manufacturing work instruction generation, and customer vehicle operations technical support.
Most recently, Andrew worked at Ursa Major as a Propulsion Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for the Hadley Thrust Vector Control system. Their accomplishments include investigating and mitigating related risks, implementing design changes, and supporting engine testing.
In 2023, Andrew joined Orbit Fab as a Fluid Systems Engineer, where they are currently employed.
Andrew Janecek-Oiler holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wyoming, which they earned from 2015 to 2020. Additionally, they obtained a certification as a Private Aircraft Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration in January 2021.
