Abel Mestie Mekonnen (MD)

Abel Mestie Mekonnen (MD) is an experienced medical professional with a diverse work history. In 2022, they began working as a Project Manager for Orbit Health and as an EBC Project Lead and Medical Doctor for Jinka General Hospital. In 2021, they were appointed Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) for KPH, and also served as a Consultant for the Generation Equality Forum - The power of youth led advocacy and accountability. Additionally, they were Advocacy and Graphics Design Director for IYAFP. From 2018 to 2019, they were Co-Founder I CTO for TheHakim Health Care Technologies and General Medical Practitioner for Lemo Gento HC. In 2017, they became a Technical Team Member for the International Society for Telemedicine & eHealth, and in 2016 they were TSD Director for the Ethiopian Medical Students Association - EMSA. In this role, they developed a website for the organization, managed and coordinated social media advocacy, engaged in motion picture productions and graphic designs related to health care activities, and played a vital role in organizing the 5th General Assembly held in Hawassa.

In 2022, they obtained a Certificate in Digital Health from Imperial College London, as well as a Certificate in Healthcare Data Security, Privacy, and Compliance from The Johns Hopkins University.
