Christoph Bastuck has over 13 years of work experience in the tech industry. In 2006, they began working as a Research Assistant at Fraunhofer IDMT, where they conducted research in the field of content based music information retrieval. In 2008, they joined Native Instruments as a Lead Software Architect and Team Lead, where they were responsible for consolidating software architecture, designs, and concepts across products. In 2013, they moved to HERE as a Senior Software Engineer, where they worked on the HERE Auto navigation application for the Jaguar XF series. In 2016, they Co-Founded Echtzeit Studio Berlin GmbH, a software agency for real-time and high-performance backends with modern, reactive web-based frontends. In 2018, they began working as a Software Engineer at Ableton and also created Hookup.to, a private project. In 2021, they joined Orchestral Tools as a Software Engineer.

Christoph Bastuck studied at the Univerität Siegen from 2000 to 2006, where they earned a degree in Diplom-Informatiker in the field of Angewandte Informatik. In April 2006, they obtained a Diplom-Informatiker / Master of Science from the Universität Siegen Fachbereich Elektrotechnik und Informatik. In January 2014, they accomplished Stanford University's online Machine Learning course through Coursera.
