Tim Layton

Director at Oregon Bioscience

Tim Layton is the current Director at Oregon Bioscience. Prior to this, they were the Senior Director, Legislative, Regulatory and Legal Affairs for the Washington State Medical Association from May 2011 to April 2013. In this role, they served as the chief lobbyist and legal counsel for the association, advocating on behalf of the association and its members before the state legislature, government agencies, and the courts. Tim was also responsible for managing all legislative, regulatory, and legal issues.

From October 2009 to April 2013, Tim Layton was the founder and member of Physician Legal Services of Washington PLLC, an independent law firm that provided a select set of legal services at discounted rates to members of the Washington State Medical Association.

From July 2005 to May 2011, Tim Layton served as the Director, Legal Affairs for the Washington State Medical Association. In this role, they served as general counsel to the Association, providing legal assistance and advice to the various departments of the Association. Tim was also actively involved in lobbying and regulatory issues before the state legislature and agencies. Tim advised the Association in legal matters before the state courts.

Tim Layton has a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, an M.P.A. from Syracuse University - Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Washington.
