Steve Corbato

Executive Director, Oregon Fiber Partnership at Oregon Health & Science University

Steve Corbato has extensive work experience in the field of information technology and networking. Steve started their career in 1988 at the University of Utah's Physics Department. Steve then worked as a Network Engineer at NorthWestNet from 1994 to 1995. Steve joined the University of Washington in 1995 as a Manager of Network Engineering and later became the Principal Internet Architect. From 2000 to 2006, they worked at Internet2, serving as the Director of Backbone Network Infrastructure and then as the Managing Director of Technology. Steve then moved to the University of Utah, where they held various roles including Associate Director of the Scientific Computing & Imaging Institute, Executive Director of Cyberinfrastructure, and Deputy Chief Information Officer. In 2015, they joined the Oregon Health and Science University as the Executive Director of the Oregon Fiber Partnership, and also took on the role of Director of Research Computing.

Steve Corbato received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics from Rice University in 1982. Steve went on to earn their Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Pennsylvania, completing their studies in 1988.
