Kayse Jama

Kayse Jama currently serves as an Oregon State Senator for District 24, representing East Portland and North Clackamas since January 2021. Prior to this role, Kayse Jama was the Executive Director at Unite Oregon from June 2003 to January 2021, where responsibilities included managing staff and volunteers, leading fundraising efforts, overseeing the organization's budget, and collaborating with various organizations. Kayse Jama has also worked as a Trainer/Organizer at the Western States Center, developing leadership programs for immigrants and refugees, and served as an Adjunct Lecturer at Portland State University, teaching capstone courses that focused on community-based learning related to immigrant and refugee issues. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Marylhurst University, obtained between 2001 and 2004.
