Silvia I Rondon is the Director of the Oregon Integrated Pest Management Center at Oregon State University, a position held since May 2017. Rondon also serves as a Professor and Extension Entomologist Specialist and was the Interim Director of the Hermiston Agricultural Research and Extension Center. Previously, Rondon worked at Oregon State University from September 2005 to January 2017 as an Associate Professor specializing in Irrigated Agriculture Entomology and as an Assistant Professor focusing on Integrated Pest Management. Earlier experience includes a Postdoctoral Associate role at the University of Florida, where Rondon researched the application of beneficial insects to reduce insecticide use on strawberries. Rondon completed a PhD at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, researching the population dynamics of the western corn rootworm, and holds a Master of Science in Entomology from UNALM and a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
