Matthew Titmus

Matthew Titmus has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Matthew is currently working as an Engineering Team Lead in the SRE department at Yext, a position they started in November 2021. Previously, they served as an Author at O'Reilly Media, where they wrote a book titled "Cloud Native Go."

Matthew also worked at Coinbase as a Senior Software Engineer in the Observability team from June 2021 to November 2021. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at Flatiron Health, including Engineering Team Lead for Cloud Services and Senior Site Reliability Engineer.

Before joining Flatiron Health, Matthew worked as a Site Reliability Engineer at SeamlessDocs, where they were responsible for Dockerizing the software stack and migrating to Kubernetes. Matthew also played a DevOps Engineer role at XSB, Inc., where they focused on containerization efforts and centralized logging and monitoring.

Matthew's earlier career includes roles as a Graduate Assistant in Bioinformatics and Computational Genomics at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a Laboratory Technician at Stony Brook University Research Foundation, and a Software Developer/Architect at Teledata Communications, Inc. Their experience also includes working as a Physics Associate at Brookhaven National Laboratory.

Matthew Titmus's education history begins in 2003 when they enrolled at Stony Brook University. Matthew completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry in 2006. Following this, Matthew attended Stony Brook University Graduate School from 2008 to 2012, where they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, specifically focusing on Molecular Pathology.

In addition to their formal education, Matthew obtained various certifications. In December 2014, they received a certificate for completing "The Data Scientist's Toolbox" course from Coursera. In the following months, they obtained certificates for "R Programming" and "Getting and Cleaning Data" in February 2015.

In April 2015, Matthew obtained certificates for completing "Cloud Computing Concepts" and "Cloud Computing Concepts: Part 2" courses. In October 2015, they obtained a certificate for completing the "Introduction to Software Product Management" course and also obtained a certificate for completing the "Cloud Computing Applications" course.

In April 2016, Matthew earned an "Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 8 Programmer" certification from Oracle. In May 2016, they obtained a certificate for completing the "Hadoop Platform and Application Framework" course.

Matthew continued their professional development in August and September 2018, obtaining certificates for completing courses such as "Neural Networks and Deep Learning," "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization, and Optimization," and "Structuring Machine Learning Projects," all from Coursera.
