Cristhian Almeida-Rivera serves as the Head of Safety and Chemistry Cell at the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) since November 2014, overseeing a team of over 20 professionals and contributing to the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention through analytical chemistry and health and safety initiatives. Prior to this role, Cristhian held various positions at Unilever from January 2005 to October 2014, including Global Supply Chain Manager and Research Manager, focusing on supply chain optimization and the development of novel food technologies. Cristhian's academic background includes a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Delft University of Technology and an Executive Programme in Design Thinking from MIT Sloan School of Management.
