Fabian Rutherford is a seasoned Political Affairs Officer at the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) since August 2017, responsible for drafting communications for senior officials, monitoring disarmament issues, and providing analysis on Chemical Weapon Convention member states. Prior to this role, Fabian served as a Policy Officer at the Department of Premier and Cabinet in Victoria, where responsibilities included developing strategic policy advice and managing project communications. Earlier experience includes positions as a Business Improvement Manager at Wax Revolution, an Advocacy Officer at SCRAP, and an Adviser and Researcher at the Japanese Permanent Mission to the Conference on Disarmament. Fabian holds a Graduate Diploma in International Law from the University of Melbourne, a Master of Laws in Political Science from Kyushu University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese Studies from Monash University.
