Len Shaw has had a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Duty Chaplain at the Provincial Jail from 1988 to 1996. Following this, they worked at York Support Services as a Crisis Counselor from 2003 to 2005. Finally, Len Shaw became the Director of Pastoral Care and Cultural Affairs at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital in 2005 and is currently in that role.

Len Shaw completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology from Lakehead University from 1977 to 1980. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Theology and Religious Vocations from the University of Manitoba from 1980 to 1983.
