Jeffrey Byrd has over 16 years of work experience in the IT industry. Jeffrey started their career at University of Phoenix as an IT Customer Services Representative, where they assisted customers with configuring Microsoft Outlook and troubleshooting student scheduling and grades issues. Jeffrey then became a Senior IT Customer Services Representative, handling escalated technical support issues.
In 2008, they joined Apollo Education Group as a Software QA Analyst and Software Engineer. Jeffrey deployed Oracle Middleware API's and worked on integrating Bamboo into the application build process. Jeffrey also collaborated with developers to streamline deployment processes. Later, they transitioned to the role of a Software Engineer II, Release and Automation, where they worked on updating and troubleshooting Chef scripts and developing Ruby scripts to improve performance.
In 2015, Byrd joined GWFathom as a Dev Ops Engineer. Here, they developed Ansible Roles for configuring Nagios Core server and monitoring java application processes, server performance, and PostGres database performance.
Currently, Byrd is working at Orion Health as a Site Reliability Engineer, starting from January 2017.
Jeffrey Byrd obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix, where they studied from 2006 to 2009. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained several certifications, including AWS Concepts, Ansible Quick Start, and Serverless Concepts. These certifications were earned in March 2018 from Linux Academy.
