Virginie Kergourlay

Virginie Kergourlay is a Senior Scientist at Orion Corporation, with experience in immuno-oncology and the development of antisense oligonucleotide-based therapies for oncology, neurodegenerative diseases, pain, and rare diseases. This role has included work on cell therapy projects aimed at immuno-oncological indications since October 2019. Previously, Virginie completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory from September 2015 to December 2018, focusing on antisense oligonucleotide therapy for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and researching its pathophysiology. Virginie earned a PhD in Human Genetics from Aix-Marseille University, where research involved developing functional assays for dysferlin gene variants and therapeutic approaches for dysferlinopathies, while also serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Cellular Biology. Educational credentials include a Master’s in Human Pathology and a Licence in Physiology and Biological Engineering.
