AVP, Academic Partnerships at Orlando Health

Patty Genday, MSN, MBA, RN, serves as assistant vice president of academic partnerships at Orlando Health. This unique role is vital to meet the ever-changing healthcare and academic environment. Prior to this role, she served as chief nursing officer at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies. Serving as the leader for the hospital’s nursing vision, strategic direction and delivery of care, Patty’s core mission and values align with that of the Magnet Recognition Program® designation that drew her to Orlando Health — high standards of patient outcomes, very favorable levels of patient satisfaction and an engaged team that demonstrates professional growth in the work environment.

Before joining Orlando Health, Patty held the position of chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at UPMC Magee-Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, part of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center health system. She has served in varied administrative roles from leadership development, operations, strategic planning and medical staff affairs to excellence in patient care outcomes and employee engagement.

As a professional registered nurse, Patty earned an MBA from St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania, and a BS/MS in Nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, serving as an adjunct faculty member educating future nurses at the bachelor and master level. She is a true advocate for the nursing profession, as evidenced by her four daughters who all chose to pursue careers in nursing. Patty has served on numerous boards over the years to support her community.
