Matt McGrath

Matt McGrath has a diverse work experience in software engineering and leadership roles. Matt is currently working at ORRECO as the Head of Engineering. Before that, they worked at ORBCOMM as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were involved in various projects such as database management, technical leadership, solution architecture, and automating driver workflows. Prior to ORBCOMM, they worked at WNDYR as a Software Lead in Operations, where they handled strategic planning, software delivery, team management, and business development. Matt also worked as a Software Engineer at Blue Tree Systems, Dell, and DERI, gaining experience in areas such as cloud-based mobile application compilation, Windows 8 application development, and software engineering internships. Additionally, they were awarded a Software Engineering Scholarship at DERI, where they developed a cross-platform smartphone application for healthcare and life sciences.

Matt McGrath completed their high school education at Holy Rosary College in Mountbellew from 2004 to 2009, earning a High School Diploma. Matt then attended the University of Galway from 2009 to 2013, where they obtained a B.Sc.(Hons.) degree in Information Technology. In addition to their formal education, Matt has obtained several certifications, including the Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect from Google Cloud Platform Certified in April 2019. Matt also completed various courses on cloud infrastructure and services through Coursera, including Elastic Cloud Infrastructure: Scaling and Automation, Essential Cloud Infrastructure: Core Services, Reliable Cloud Infrastructure: Design and Process, Essential Cloud Infrastructure: Foundation, Elastic Cloud Infrastructure: Containers and Services, and Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure.
