Heather H. Egan (formerly Sussman) has extensive experience in the field of privacy, cybersecurity, and data protection. Heather H. is currently the Global Head of the Strategic Advisory & Government Enforcement Business Unit and Global Chair of the Cyber, Privacy & Data Innovation Practice Group at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. In their role, they help clients navigate the complex landscape of privacy and cybersecurity laws worldwide, develop data innovation strategies, and ensure compliance while promoting innovation and trust. Prior to joining Orrick, Heather served as a Partner in Privacy and Data Security at Ropes & Gray LLP from 2015 to 2018 and at McDermott Will & Emery from 2000 to 2015. Heather H. also has experience in the public finance department at Bear Stearns & Company, Inc. from 1996 to 1997.

Heather H. Egan (formerly Sussman) completed their education with a Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Law from Boston College Law School, attending from 1997 to 2000. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology, French, and English from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where they studied from 1992 to 1996. Additionally, Heather obtained a Certificate of French Proficiency from Universite de Grenoble, France, in 1995. Heather H. also holds a certification as a Certified Information Privacy Professional/US from IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals.
