Melinda Ayvazian

Melinda Ayvazian, Eng. has extensive work experience in the medical device industry at Pega Medical Inc. Melinda started their career in 2010 as a Quality Assurance Intern, where they focused on improving the company's quality system and preparing for audits by regulatory bodies. In 2011, they became a Design Intern in Research and Development, gaining hands-on experience in product design and development.

Melinda quickly progressed in their career and in 2012, they became a Research and Development Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for ensuring the proper implementation of the entire product design process and obtaining regulatory approvals for Pega Medical's product lines. Melinda successfully completed several projects, including the Free Gliding SCFE screw System, the Simple Locking IntraMedullary (SLIM) System, and the Locking Pediatric Osteotomy Plate (LolliPOP) System. Melinda also worked on service contracts for non-pediatric devices, including design, bench testing, and regulatory approval.

In 2016, Melinda took on the role of R&D Team Leader, where they managed the daily activities of the engineering team and assigned tasks for product lines. Melinda provided guidance and consultation on ongoing design and service projects and ensured training and follow-up for new staff.

In 2018, Melinda was promoted to R&D Manager, where they coordinated the activities of the R&D team to meet department and project deliverables. Melinda directed the scheduling of projects and reviewed technical documentation for regulatory compliance.

Most recently, Melinda has been serving as the Director of Research & Development at Pega Medical Inc. Their responsibilities include overseeing all technical outputs of the engineering department, assessing and improving design control procedures, evaluating project proposals, and developing the technical and interpersonal skills of team members.

Throughout their career, Melinda has demonstrated a strong commitment to quality and regulatory compliance, as well as a focus on team development and project management.

Melinda Ayvazian, Eng. obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal from 2008 to 2012.
