Palash Bhar

Principal Scientist, Medicinal Chemistry and Bioconjugation at Orum Therapeutics

Palash Bhar has a diverse work experience in the field of organic and medicinal chemistry. Palash started their career as an M.Sc. student in Synthetic Organic Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where they worked on developing a concise strategy for the synthesis of atropisomeric flavans.

After completing their M.Sc., Palash went on to work as a Doctoral Student at Carleton University, Canada, where they focused on investigating the biosynthesis of conjugated fatty acids in plants and examining the antimicrobial properties of suberin-associated alkyl hydroxycinnamates.

Palash then pursued postdoctoral research positions at Dalhousie University, Canada, where they worked on studying CTP Synthase and its catalytic mechanism and regulation for the development of anticancer and antiviral agents.

Palash continued their research career as a Synthetic Organic Chemist at Dalton Pharma Services, where they conducted research following cGMP rules and regulations. Palash'sresponsibilities included performing organic synthesis, purifying compounds, and characterizing them using various analytical techniques.

Palash further enhanced their expertise as a Senior Synthetic Chemist at Toronto Research Chemicals, where they were actively involved in designing synthetic routes and synthesizing various types of organic compounds. Palash also developed purification techniques and methods.

Most recently, Palash joined Orum Therapeutics as a Principal Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry and Bioconjugation. In this role, they are responsible for leading research and development activities in the field of medicinal chemistry and bioconjugation.

Throughout their career, Palash has gained extensive experience in designing synthetic routes, synthesizing and purifying organic compounds, and characterizing them using various analytical techniques. Palash has also contributed to the development of novel strategies and the exploration of potential medicinal applications for their research findings.
