Daniel Downton P.Geo. has extensive work experience as a geologist in the mining industry. Daniel is currently employed as the Chief Resource Geologist at Osisko Development Corp. since March 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Senior Resource Geologist at McEwen Mining Inc. from February 2019 to March 2022. Before that, they held the position of Senior Resource Geologist at Kirkland Lake Gold (KL) from August 2011 to February 2019, and also worked as a Production Geologist at the same company from April 2009 to August 2011. Daniel has further experience as an Exploration Geologist at Paragon Minerals Corp. from June 2008 to March 2009, and as a Mine Geologist at Beaver Brook Antimony Mine Inc. from April 2007 to June 2008. Daniel Downton P.Geo. began their career at Goldcorp, where they worked as a Lead and Beat Production Geologist from January 2005 to March 2007.

Daniel Downton P.Geo. completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from Memorial University of Newfoundland, where they studied from 2001 to 2004.

Daniel has obtained the professional certification of P.Geo. (Professional Geoscientist) from two institutions. The first certification was received from the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario in August 2012. The second certification was obtained from Engineers and Geoscientists BC in May 2022.
