Gareth Hammond

Gareth Hammond has had a long and varied career in the aquaculture industry. In 2012, they began as Farm Manager at Pill Brook Aquaculture. In 2013, they became Assistant Manager at West African Fish Ltd, as well as taking on a Self Employed role at Fisheries Management. Gareth also founded Fishtech Consultancy that year. In 2015, they became a Feed Specialist at Scottish Sea Farms. In 2016, they were the Key Account Manager at Norsk Fiskeoppdrett AS | Kyst.no | Salmonview Media Group and the UK & Ire Area Manager at VAKI SCOTLAND LTD. In 2021, they were the Business Development Manager at OTAQ Group and the VAKI Area Manager at MSD Animal Health Aqua UK. Gareth is currently the Owner & Director of Nexus Aquaculture Ltd, where they are responsible for distributing land and offshore automated feed systems, 50T feed barges, and bath vaccinators, as well as offering fish handling systems training services and market research for industry projects.

Gareth Hammond received their Foundation Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering from the Royal Navy in 2003-2004. Gareth then attended the University of Greenwich, where they earned a Foundation degree in Fisheries Management from 2007-2009. After that, they attended the University of Plymouth, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Aquaculture in 2009-2010 and a Master's degree in Sustainable Aquaculture Systems in 2011-2012.
