Maurice Coull began their career in 1987 as an Electronic Tech at AMETEK. There, they spent three years building Scorpio and Super Scorpio ROVs. In 1990, they moved to Oceaneering as a ROV Pilot Technician, working on a Trojan ROV for drilling support. Maurice then moved to Subsea Offshore in 1992, where they were employed as a workshop Electronics Technician. Maurice repaired PCBs, sonars, and electronics pods for Subsea Offshore's massive ROV fleet, and built test fixtures and wrote procedures to simplify and speed up testing. In 1991, they moved to Subsea 7 as an Electronics Engineer, progressing their qualifications at Aberdeen College and later Robert Gordon's University. In 2006, they became a Director at Immerse Technologies Ltd. and in 2015, they were offered the role of Engineering Manager at Fathom Systems Ltd., building some of the largest projects for new clients in Singapore. In 2020, they joined OTAQ Group as Chief Engineer.
Maurice Coull attended North East Scotland College from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electronic Engineering.
