Gillian Bennett has a diverse background in public health nutrition and dietetics. Their most recent position was as a Public Health Nutritionist at Ottawa Public Health - Santé publique Ottawa, starting in May 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Food and Health Programme Manager at the Royal Borough of Greenwich from April 2021 to January 2023, where they also served as an Infant Nutrition Advisor from June 2020 to March 2022. Gillian also gained experience as a Holiday Provision Coordinator and a Public Health Fellow at Southwark Council in 2020. In 2019, they interned as an Advocacy Intern at Action Against Hunger | ACF-UK. Earlier in their career, they completed internships in community dietetics, clinical dietetics, and administrative dietetics at organizations such as ReDirect Nutrition Counselling Inc, J.Oulton & Associates, and the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Gillian brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of nutrition and public health to their work.
Gillian Bennett obtained their Bachelor of Science (BScAHN) degree in Applied Human Nutrition from Mount Saint Vincent University, which they attended from 2013 to 2017. After completing their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at the University of Westminster, where they graduated in 2019 with a degree in Global Public Health Nutrition. Additionally, they obtained certifications as a Registered Dietitian from the College of Dietitians of Ontario in January 2018 and as an Advanced FST from TrainCan, Inc. in September 2014.
