Bohan Zhang

Co-Founder at OtterTune

Bohan Zhang is a software engineer and entrepreneur who is currently Co-Founder at OtterTune. Prior to this, they were at Striim, where they developed time-series forecasting, sampling, and anomaly detection algorithms for large-scale streaming data. Bohan has also interned at Databricks, where they worked on GraphFrames and helped optimize the Connected Components by modifying the algorithm to achieve 3-4x speedups. Bohan has also done research assistant work at Carnegie Mellon University - School of Computer Science - Language Technologies Institute, where they worked with Prof.Andy Pavlo and Dr.Dana on the automatic database tuning system through machine learning. Their system, Ottertune, performs as good as DBAs. Bohan has also published papers in SIGMOD and VLDB.

Bohan Zhang received a Master of Science in Computational Data Science (system track) from Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science. Bohan also holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Peking University.
