Jess Szmajda

Jess Szmajda is a board member at Out in Tech. Jess was previously the CTO at Axios and a cofounder at Optoro. At Axios, Jess led product discovery, build, and operations. Jess also developed a highly diverse and talented technology group. Jess launched the website and native mobile apps. The primary tech used was Elixir, Phoenix, Typescript, React, React Native, Django, Python, Postgres, AWS. At Optoro, Jess was the chief architect and head of back-end development. Jess was also responsible for the company's corporate strategy and planning processes.

Jess Szmajda attended the University of Maryland, where they studied computer science and music.
