Marianne Harris, Ph.D CNP NEA-BC has a diverse work experience in various healthcare organizations. Marianne started their career in 1995 as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Greater Roslindale Medical and Dental Center, where they provided primary and episodic healthcare services to an inner-city population. During their time there, they also implemented community health education programs.

In 2001, Marianne joined the Cleveland Clinic as a Nurse Practitioner at the Regional Family Health Centers. In this role, they provided episodic, urgent care, and primary healthcare services to a diverse population. Marianne also served as a group leader and behaviorist for shared medical appointments, a novel healthcare delivery paradigm. Additionally, Marianne served as a preceptor for graduate nurse practitioner students, mentoring and instructing them in their clinical or academic requirements.

In 2005, Marianne transitioned to the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus as a Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner. Marianne collaborated with the cardiovascular surgery team and cardiologists, providing pre and postoperative evaluation and management for patients with various cardiac conditions. Marianne also managed post-operative care in the Cardiothoracic step-down units and facilitated outpatient clinics for cardiac surgeons.

From 2012 to 2015, Marianne worked as the Director of Emergency and Critical Care Services at the Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital. Marianne directed administrative functions and daily operations of critical care areas, including the ICU, CCU, step-down telemetry unit, and Emergency Room. During their tenure, they oversaw an 83-million dollar renovation and expansion of the ED/ICU and managed the transition plan for combined medical and surgical intensive care units to optimize staffing functions.

In 2015, Marianne joined Northwestern Memorial Hospital as the Director of Patient Care for Cardiac Services, where they played a key role in overseeing patient care within the cardiac services department.

In 2021, Marianne became the Director of Clinical Practice for the Biological Sciences Division at the University of Chicago. Marianne directed clinical care, operations, and medical services for undergraduate and graduate students and their dependents. Marianne also provided leadership for public health, Covid mitigation, policies, procedures, and workforce development.

Currently, Marianne serves as the Chief Clinical Officer at Outer Cape Health Services, providing senior clinical leadership for three coastal facilities. In this role, they lead a quality team and operational directors, ensures regulatory compliance, and makes senior-level decisions regarding clinical care, performance, and site operations. Outer Cape Health Services is dedicated to providing high-quality, effective, and affordable care to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay.

Marianne Harris, Ph.D CNP NEA-BC, earned their Ph.D in Nursing/Health Services Research from Case Western Reserve University between 2005 and 2013. Marianne also holds a BSN in Nursing from Northeastern University and an MS in Family and Community Health Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. In addition to their degrees, they obtained certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center in August 1993 and as a Nurse Executive Advanced (NEA-BC) in July 2018.
