Matt McConnell

Actuation Systems, Test & Integration Sr. Engineering Manager at Overair

Matt McConnell has over 25 years of experience in engineering management. Matt began their career in 1995 as the Engineering Manager for the Electro-Systems Division at TRW Aeronautical Systems (formerly Western Gear/Lucas Aerospace, now Collins Aerospace). In 2000, they moved to Ancra International LLC - Cargo Handling Systems as the Engineering Manager for Actuation Systems Development, where they patented and managed the PMA certification of advanced cargo actuation systems. In 2013, they became the R&D Engineering Manager at Parker Aerospace, leading technology development programs focused on additive layer manufacturing (ALM) and advanced power generation and safety systems for commercial aircraft. In 2020, they took on the role of Director of Engineered Solutions at MORF3D Aerospace in El Segundo, CA, leading the team of AM Engineers and Solution Architects in the application of state-of-the-art metal AM solutioning methods to critical aerospace applications. Most recently, in 2022, they became the Mechanical Systems Engineering Manager at Overair.

Matt McConnell has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Fullerton and has completed Mechanical Engineering Graduate Studies at California State Polytechnic University-Pomona.
