Alex Baron is the CTO and co-founder of Ovia Health. Alex has over 20 years of experience in the tech industry, with a focus on data science.

Baron began their career as an IT analyst at the Principal Financial Group in 1999. Alex quickly developed a reputation as a productivity tool expert, and was responsible for developing several Java database and UI applications. In 2001, they left Principal Financial to join Raytheon Intelligence & Space.

At Raytheon, Baron led the company's Natural Language Processing (NLP) research and development efforts. Alex also developed statistical machine learning models to capture implicit behaviors in online human interaction. In 2006, they solved the cross-document entity coreference problem. Their solution won first place in multiple industry evaluations and was widely deployed across projects in the company. Baron also designed, optimized and maintained extremely large relational databases during their time at Raytheon.

In 2013, Baron left Raytheon to co-found Ovia Health. Ovia Health is a women's health and fertility company that uses data and technology to help women conceive naturally, have healthy pregnancies, and be more productive at work. Under Baron's leadership, Ovia Health has become one of the most popular fertility tracking apps, with over 1 million users.

Alex Baron has a type AM degree in Statistics from Harvard University, a PhD in Computer Science from Brandeis University, and a BS in Computer Science from Iowa State University.

They work with Cassandre Charles - VP of Marketing, Consumer, Molly Howard - COO, and Rachel Boyd - VP of Marketing, Enterprise. Their manager is Pamela Abbott, President.
