Head Of Power To X & Hydrogen at OWC

Nguyen Dinh has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Nguyen is currently the Head of Hydrogen at OWC, a position they have held since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked at MaREI as a Senior Research Fellow and Project Principal Investigator/Manager from July 2017 to October 2021.

Before joining MaREI, Nguyen worked as a Consultant at ANT Solutions, where they specialized in wind turbine erection monitoring, project management, and offshore wind turbine development. Nguyen also assessed wind farm layouts using various models.

Nguyen has also worked as a Consultant at Seawind Ocean Technology, contributing to the installation of the world's first floating wind turbine. Additionally, they served as a Senior Engineer at Wood Group - clean energy, where they developed software modules, provided consultancy and customer support for the offshore and energy industry.

Earlier in their career, Nguyen held research positions at Trinity College Dublin, undertaking projects related to energy policy and floating wave energy converters. Nguyen also conducted research on floating wind turbine modeling and control as part of EU FP7 projects.

Furthermore, Nguyen worked as a Marie-Curie Post-doctoral Researcher at Plaxis BV, specializing in geotechnics software. Nguyen also served as an Assistant Professor at Konkuk University, where they coordinated a graduate course on bridge dynamics and supervised a Master's thesis.

At the Asian Institute of Technology, Nguyen worked as a Research Associate contributing to technological change and sustainable development. Their career started at Vietnam Maritime University, where they worked as an Assistant Instructor/Instructor.

Nguyen Dinh's education history begins with their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from the National University of Civil Engineering in Hanoi, Vietnam, which they earned from 1994 to 1999. Nguyen then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Engineering degree from the Asian Institute of Technology, specializing in Structural Engineering as their major field of study, and Geotechnics and Environmental & Project Management as their minor fields of study. This degree was completed from 2001 to 2003. Later on, from 2003 to 2008, Nguyen Dinh pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Structural Dynamics from the Asian Institute of Technology. Lastly, from 2011 to 2014, they completed a Marie Curie Post-doctoral in Engineering at Trinity College Dublin, focusing on Offshore wind, Wave energy, Vibration control, Data analysis, and Geotechnics.
