Jean-Baptiste Théou has a diverse work experience in the field of embedded systems engineering and software development. Jean-Baptiste started their career as a Junior Embedded Systems Engineer at Vodalys Ingénierie in 2012 and then worked as a DSP Development Intern at Canon, Inc. in the same year. After gaining some early experience, they started their own company called Latexpress, where they worked as the creator from 2010 to 2012.

In 2013, they joined Witekio as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, focusing on embedded Linux and Android development for multiple clients. Jean-Baptiste also developed and delivered training for i.MX6 platforms with Yocto.

From 2016 to 2020, Jean-Baptiste worked at Essential Products as a Principal System Software Engineer. Jean-Baptiste played a crucial role in the development of the Essential PH-1 phone, working on various aspects such as board bringup, audio, cellular/WiFi, NFC/Felica, and display. Jean-Baptiste also managed the integration and support for multiple Android versions to ensure timely releases.

In 2020, Jean-Baptiste took on the role of VP of Systems Software at OSOM Products Inc. There, they led the development of the SAGA phone project and collaborated with manufacturers to bring it to market. Jean-Baptiste also participated in high-level meetings and made architecture decisions.

In the same year, they also ventured into entrepreneurship again and became the owner of Ty Embedded Solutions, where they likely worked on various embedded system projects.

In 2021, Jean-Baptiste joined Simple Things as a Principal System Engineer. Jean-Baptiste was responsible for board bringup, validation, and software architecture for different types of microcontrollers and SoCs, optimizing their performance and capabilities.

Most recently, in 2023, Jean-Baptiste joined Impulse as a Senior Embedded System Engineer.

Throughout their career, Jean-Baptiste has demonstrated a strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of various subsystems and platforms. Jean-Baptiste has also shown a passion for sharing their knowledge, providing guidance to team members, and improving product quality.

Jean-Baptiste Théou has a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Embedded Systems from ENSEIRB-MATMECA, which they obtained in 2012. Prior to that, they completed another Master of Science (M.S.) in Embedded Systems from ENSICAEN -Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Ingénieurs de Caen et Centre de Recherche in 2012. Their education history also includes studying Mathematics and Physics at Lycée Lesage from 2007 to 2009.
