When looking at the precise, astute icons, logos and illustrations created by Senior Graphic Designer and Illustrator Yihsuan Lu, it is hard to imagine that her artistic life began in the messy world of oil painting. But it is easy to see how her visual thinking and conceptual communication skills have served both disciplines.
Born and raised in Taiwan, Yihsuan studied at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, first studying traditional illustration and related skills, including story boarding, character design and other aspects of visual development. She then decided to expand her education by studying graphic design and earned a second degree at the same university. At the time, the fields of UI and UX were in their infancies and smart phones had not yet become ubiquitous. Without knowing it, Yihsuan was preparing herself for the visual needs of these new technologies.
