Lauren Self has over eight years of experience in product management and marketing. Lauren began their career as a Community Brand Ambassador at California Pizza Kitchen, where they were responsible for promoting the brand and generating customer engagement. After two years in this role, they transitioned to product management and has been working in this field ever since.

At RealSocial Inc., Lauren Self was responsible for launching new features into the market that drove customer acquisition and product adoption. Lauren also led cross-functional efforts with Sales, Design, Engineering, and Marketing teams to prepare training and go-to-market plans. In their four years at the company, they owned detailed product requirements, ensuring products satisfied the needs of customers, end-users, and other stakeholders.

In their current role as Product Manager at OwnLocal, Lauren Self is responsible for prioritizing the product backlog by defining urgency in customer demands, engineering bugs & tech debt, and internal stakeholder requests. Lauren also captures customer needs, product scenarios, user stories, and stakeholder feedback to improve existing and launch new products. In addition, Lauren Self coordinates with Customer Success/service teams to identify new opportunities to solve users’ pain points. Finally, they conduct detailed competitive analysis and maintains documentation identifying product deficiencies, feature gaps, and opportunities for product improvements

Lauren Self completed their undergraduate education at Texas Tech University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Lauren also holds a BA in Journalism - News/Editorial Electronic Media & Communication and Visual Communications from Texas Tech University.
