Meryem Aslan

Meryem Aslan is a seasoned professional in the field of gender and women's rights, currently serving as a Policy Manager at Oxfam since January 2023. Meryem has extensive experience at the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women, holding the position of Director since August 2010, where responsibilities include managing a key multi-lateral grant-making mechanism dedicated to combating violence against women and girls globally. Previously, Meryem worked at UNIFEM as Regional Program Director from December 2004 to August 2010, focusing on gender and governance, justice, and human rights across multiple countries in East Africa. Earlier roles include Country Program Manager for Afghanistan and Program Officer for Central Asia at Oxfam Novib. Meryem holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Politics from Uludag University.
