Chris Lewins has worked in various roles across a number of companies since 2009. From 2009 to 2011, they were a Casual UCAS tour guide at the University of Bath. From 2011 to 2015, they were a Research Officer, Reader - PhD Electrical & Electronic Engineering, and Casual lab demonstrator and teaching assistant at the University of Bath. From 2015 to 2019, they were a Principal Engineer and Senior Engineer at EFFECT Photonics. Since 2019, they have been a Lead Development Engineer (Development Engineering Manager) and Principal Development Engineer at AFE Ltd. Additionally, since 2022, they have been a Quantum Processor Engineering Team Lead and Integrated Photonics Designer at Oxford Ionics, as well as a Director at SHAREOxford.

Chris Lewins completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Bath in 2015. Prior to that, they obtained an MEng(hons) in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Bath in 2011. Chris Lewins' educational journey began in 2000 when they attended John Hampden Grammar School.
