Senior Director Of Analytical Chemistry at Oxford Nanopore Technologies

Luke McNeill has extensive work experience in the field of analytical chemistry. Luke is currently serving as the Senior Director of Analytical Chemistry at Oxford Nanopore Technologies since March 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Analytical Chemistry at the same company starting from December 2018. From September 2008 to December 2018, Luke worked as a Principal Scientist at Oxford Nanopore Technologies.

Before joining Oxford Nanopore Technologies, Luke worked as a Project Leader at Synairgen from December 2007 to September 2008. At Synairgen, they conducted a project focused on finding biomarkers for distinguishing asthmatic and COPD patients from non-asthmatics.

Luke's work experience also includes serving as a Senior Scientist at ReOx Ltd, a spinout company formed from the work carried out in the Oxford Chemistry department. Luke worked there from 2005 to 2008, collaborating with a multinational pharmaceutical company to find new chemical entities for modulating the hypoxic response in mammalian tissues.

Luke started their career as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the University of Oxford in 1999. During this time, they worked on the chemistry and enzymology of enzymes involved in oxidations in biological systems, focusing on the oxygen sensing system in mammals. Luke was also responsible for supervising research students and managing the laboratory.
