Marcus Stoiber

Principal Algorithms Researcher at Oxford Nanopore Technologies

Marcus Stoiber has extensive work experience in various research and data analysis roles. Marcus is currently a Principal Algorithms Researcher at Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd, where they have been working since January 2022. Prior to this, they held positions as a Senior Data Analyst from January 2020 to December 2021, and as a Data Analyst from July 2017 to January 2020 at the same company. Marcus also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow Affiliate at Harvard University from August 2015 to July 2017, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Berkeley Lab from June 2015 to July 2017. Earlier in their career, they were a Graduate Student Researcher and Graduate Student Instructor at UC Berkeley from September 2012 to May 2015, and also served as an Applications Programmer from October 2011 to August 2012. Marcus gained experience as a Graduate Student Intern at NIH/NHGRI from March 2011 to August 2011. Additionally, they worked as a High School Tutor at C2 Education from September 2009 to February 2011, and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at National Institutes of Health from May 2008 to August 2008 and from May 2007 to August 2007.

Marcus Stoiber earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry and Mathematics from Occidental College from 2005 to 2009. Marcus then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Bioinformatics at The Johns Hopkins University from 2009 to 2011. Marcus went on to attend the University of California, Berkeley from 2012 to 2015, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biostatistics.
