Sophie Williams has a diverse work experience, with a focus on biosciences and software development. Sophie started their career at the University of Leeds, where they worked as a Wellcome Trust Biomedical Vacation Scholar and an Education and Curriculum Development intern. Sophie then moved on to an internship at Nordic Pharma Group, where they supported regulatory, medical information, and marketing teams. Sophie later joined the Research Complex at Harwell as a research intern, contributing to structural biology research projects. At the University of Oxford, they pursued a PhD in Interdisciplinary Biosciences and worked as a Laboratory and Computational Demonstrator. Sophie also had an internship at Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd as a Python Developer and later joined the company as a Software Developer. Throughout their career, they have made notable achievements, including receiving the 2018 Doctoral Training Centre Project Publication Prize.

Sophie Williams has an extensive education history. Sophie started their academic journey at The School of St Helen and St Katharine, where they completed their high school education and obtained their GCSE qualification from 2003 to 2008. Following this, they attended Faringdon Community College from 2008 to 2010 to pursue their A levels, which they successfully completed.

Sophie then continued their education at the University of Leeds, where they obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences with First Class Honors. Sophie studied at the university from 2010 to 2013. After completing their undergraduate studies, Sophie went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the prestigious University of Oxford. Sophie dedicated herself to their research and academic career from 2015 to 2020, resulting in the successful completion of their PhD.

In addition to their academic achievements, Sophie has also obtained several certifications to enhance their knowledge and skills. Sophie completed the Professional Development Framework: Developing Learning and Teaching course offered by the Staff and Educational Development Association in July 2017. Furthermore, they obtained the DPhil Biochemistry certification from the University of Oxford in January 2020. Lastly, Sophie received the 1st Class BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences certification from the University of Leeds in September 2013.
