Entrepreneur in Residence, Life Sciences at Oxford Sciences Innovation

Damian joined OSI in January 2021 as an Entrepreneur in Residence. He was previously Director, R&D and Head of Early Drug Discovery for Neuroscience at AstraZeneca Biopharmaceuticals. Prior to that he pursued a clinician-scientist role in neurodegeneration, combining training in neurology at Addenbrookes hospital with basic research at the Department of Genetics and affiliated to the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research. Damian continues to lecture at the University of Cambridge and UCL where he is an Honorary Associate Professor. He is also a founder of GPnotebook.co.uk, the UK’s premier professional medical reference resource, and pursued project spin-outs while at AstraZeneca. At OSI, Damian will provide in-house neuroscience consultancy and expertise, and aims to identify credible scientific breakthroughs to form the basis of an innovative new portfolio company.
