Jim Graham

Advisor at Oxford Sciences Innovation

Jim joined Oxford Science Enterprises in October 2022 and advises the Deep Tech team.

Jim is a seasoned investor and operator with over 25 years of experience. He has particular expertise in strategy formation, commercial marketing, pricing strategy, scaling for growth, and cultural change programs.

Jim began his career in the military and spent 15 years as a Weapons and Sensors Engineer in the Royal Navy. He also held operational positions within the MOD and GCHQ.

Following this, Jim was a Strategy Consultant at Accenture, Managing Director at Orange, and then Chief Operating Officer at The Gym Group. During his tenure, the business doubled in size and executed a successful IPO to become an FTSE main listing – the first health and fitness operator to do so in over 15 years.

Jim has also been an Operating Partner at two Private Equity Funds and is the chair for a number of PE and VC-backed businesses.

Jim holds master's degrees in engineering and mathematics from the University of Cambridge and Cranfield University respectively, as well as an MBA from the London Business School.
