Martin Ashley

Martin Ashley is an experienced educator and leading figure in music pedagogy, currently serving as Series Editor for the Emerging Voices choral series at Oxford University Press since May 2018. In addition, Martin holds the role of Editor in Chief for the ABCD Choral Research Journal, aiming to enhance choral conducting practices through research. Previously, Martin was a Professor of Education and Head of Research at Edge Hill University, managing the Faculty's research initiatives. Other notable positions include Reader in Education at the University of the West of England and Chorister Outreach Programme Manager at Bristol Cathedral. Martin's extensive academic background includes multiple degrees from the University of the West of England, a Bachelor's degree in Music Pedagogy from Christ Church College Canterbury, and credentials from Trinity College of Music.
